Local band Fireland released their latest album “Fireland IV – Forged in Fire” independently on 1st June. I still refer to them as a local band, though in reality the band is now focused around local guitarist Steve Moore and American singer David Brown. It is essentially a studio project now, but that has not always been the case. I played the track “Dragon Slayer” on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 24th May, followed by “Hurricane” on the Show on 7th June.

Furyon frontman Matt Mitchell released his debut solo album through his own MM Recording Works label on 31st May. The project is called Matt Mitchell & The Coldhearts and the album has the same name. Promotion of the album is being handled by Rock n Growl. I included the track “Black Diamonds” on the Friday NI Rocks Show back in January and “Home” on the Show on 5th April.

“In Another Time” is the debut release from Tanith; a band based in New York that includes British vocalist and guitarist Russ Tippins; best known as a member of the band Satan. He shares the lead vocals position with American bass player Cindy Maynard. The album was released on 24th May through Metal Blade Records. The track “Under The Stars” was included on the NI Rocks A-Z Show on 28th May.
The D-A-D album “Riskin’ It All” was on one of the cassette tapes that remained in my car throughout the 90’s and early 00’s until I first got a car not fitted with a cassette player! I’ve been a fan of the band ever since. On 31st May they released their first album in eight years. It is called “A Prayer for the Loud” and it was released through AFM Records. I included the track “Burning Star” on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 12th April and 17th May and later “Nothing Ever Changes” on the Show on 7th June.
