German metal band Steel Engraved released their self-titled third album though Rock of Angels Records (ROAR) on 25th January. The band have been around for more than ten years and the decision to release a self-titled album now reflected a new sound, new line-up and new label. The album includes some guest vocals from Primal Fear frontman Ralf Scheepers, who was also responsible for vocal production. The track “Rebellion” was included on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 25th January.

Swedish power metal band Vandor self-released their debut album “In The Land of Vandor” on 25th January. The band formed initially in 2015 but was largely inactive for a while before regrouping in 2017. The tracks on the album were written during that time and the band has already started writing tracks for a second album. The track “Beneath The Sky” was included on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 25th January.

Come Taste The Band are a Norwegian group that formed in 1997 as a Deep Purple tribute band (named after the Deep Purple album). Over the years they’ve worked with Deep Purple singers Glenn Hughes and Joe Lynn Turner as well as Rainbow frontman Doogie White. On 25th January Come Taste The Band released the album “Reignition” through the AOR Heaven label. This album features seven tracks written and recorded with Doogie White and two tracks previously written and recorded with Joe Lynn Turner. One of the latter – “Tied Down” - was included on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 18th January.
