“Turning Point” is the debut album from Italian band Nereis and it was released via Eclipse Records on 8th June. As soon as I’d checked out the e-mail from Eclipse last week and took a listen to the album I liked what I heard and downloaded the tracks. Stupidly, I forgot to add them to my music player so I haven’t included any tracks on the Friday NI Rocks Show yet, but we’ll be rectifying that next week! So far the band has released videos for three tracks – “Breaking Bad”, “Two Wolves” and “Overdrive”.
“Hellhound” is the third album from British metal band Monument (not to be confused with British progressive metal band Monuments) and it was released on 25th May through Rock of Angels Records (ROAR). The band was formed in 2011 by vocalist Peter Ellis and the previous albums were released in 2014 and 2016. Ellis is the only member of the original line-up remaining, although both guitarists have played on all three albums. I included the single “The Chalice” on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 1st June.
American band Mass released their latest album “When 2 Worlds Collide” through Escape Music on 25th May. The band formed in Boston back in 1979 (as Axes initially) and they have continued to perform ever since, releasing albums periodically. This is their third album release with Escape, but the first in eight years, and if you’re a fan of melodic hard rock it is worth checking out. I featured the title track on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 8th June.

“The Calling” is the fifth album from English metal band Primitai and it was released on 25th May via Dissonance Records. The band have been around for 15 years and are inspired by the classic metal bands, but deliver their own brand of melodic metal. Over the years they’ve played alongside NWOBHM legends, thrash and power metal bands and sleaze rockers. I included the track “Overdrive” on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 1st June.
