“This Time” is the new album from Rock Goddess and it was released on 1st March on their own label Bite You To Death Records. The album release follows the release of an EP in 2017 which was the first new music from the band in thirty years. I was a big fan of the band back in the 80’s and some of their early tracks were included on the first Friday NI Rocks Shows back in 2010. Their 2017 EP “It’s More Than Rock n Roll” also got quite a bit of airplay and so far two tracks from the new album have featured on the Show – “Are You Ready” on the 1st February and “Why Do We Never Learn” on 15th March. Another track, “Calling To Space” was featured on the NI Rocks A-Z Show on 12th February.
There can be little doubt that Mike Tramp has one of the most distinctive (and best) voices in rock. On 1st March he released his latest solo album, “Stray From The Flock”, through Mighty Music. Mike Tramp is a singer-songwriter extraordinaire and what you get on “Stray From The Flock” is ten tracks that reflect him and his passion for music. Mike will be touring in support of the album and plays The Diamond Rock Club in Ahoghill on 20th April. The first single “Dead End Ride” was included on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 25th January and “You Ain’t Free Anymore” was on the Show on 1st March.

“Evil Enough” is the debut album from singer and guitarist Tara Lynch. It was originally released in the USA on the 13th April 2018. It got a European release through Cargo Records on 1st March. This coincides with her support slots for the UFO tour, which brings her to Belfast on 20th March. Whilst principally a vocalist and guitarist Tara Lynch is also trained on drums, bass and keyboards; however she has a number of guest musicians appearing on the album. The track “Banished From My Kingdom” was included on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 25th January, followed by “Evil Enough” on 1st March and “Unbreakable” on 15th March.
“Capricorn Six” is the latest solo album from Swedish singer Mikael Erlandsson and it was released on 22nd February by AOR Heaven. Erlandsson has recorded with number of bands over the years and has an extensive album discography dating back 25 years. The last time time I did a recommendation that he featured in was probably for the two albums released by Lover Under Cover in 2012 and 2014. “Eye of the Hurricane”, the opening track from the new album, was featured on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 15th March.
