Hardline released their latest album, “Life”, through Frontiers Music on 26th April. This is the sixth studio album from the band that was initially formed by the Gioeli brothers in the USA in 1991. Singer Johnny Gioeli is the only original member of the band remaining. I played the track “Take A Chance” on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 15th February, “Page of Your Life” on 12th April and the Queen cover “Who Wants to Live Forever” on 3rd May.
Back in 2017 I bought the first two CDs from German band Beyond The Black after discovering the band was touring with Kobra and the Lotus and deciding to check them out. At that stage the albums hadn’t been officially released in the UK. The following year I bought the third album “Heart of the Hurricane” and recorded an interview with the band’s singer Jennifer Haben. The band have now announced that the first two albums are getting a physical release outside of Germany, Austria and Switzerland for the first time and that they are releasing a new ‘Black Edition’ of “Heart of the Hurricane” that features three bonus tracks and a extra CD of tracks from the first two albums.

Gypsy Rose were a Swedish band formed in 1981 – not to be confused with the Canadian band of the same name formed in the late 80’s. The band was initially active from 1981 to 1993, before splitting and reforming in 2004 for a short period, during which they recorded and released two albums. Their 2005 self-titled debut album was re-released by Scandirock Records on 26th April and re-named “Reloaded”. I included the track “You Drive Me Crazy” on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 12th April.
