“Furyborn” is the second album from the Chilean band Chaos Magic, fronted by Caterina Nix. It was released on the 14th June by Frontiers Music. The first album, released in 2015, was largely dominated by Timo Tolkki, but this second album is very much driven by Caterina. She talks about “Furyborn” during an interview on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 12th July; when we also play four tracks from the album. I’d previously featured the tracks “Like Never Before”, “Furyborn” and “I’m Your Cancer” on the Show over the past few weeks.
There are two NI Rocks Shows uploaded each week on Rock Radio NI. These are the playlists for those shows for the month of June – all of which are still available from the On Demand Player. There are tracks by around 130 different artists on the Shows this month. Playlists for May were published previously and these Shows are also available via the On Demand Player – http://www.rockradioni.co.uk/news/rrni-updates/3603-ni-rocks-playlists-for-may-2019.html
This month the Friday NI Rocks Show included separate interviews with Alliance members Gary Pihl (who is also part of Boston) and Robert Berry (who is also in 3.2) . All interviews can be found here - http://www.rockradioni.co.uk/interviews.html
“The Brotherhood of Metal” is the second album to be released by American 80’s metal band The Rods since they reformed in 2008. The album was released on 7th June by Steamhammer / SPV. The Rods had released a number of albums in the early 80’s which gained them something of a cult following in the American metal scene. The two newer albums have seen the band develop that sound for a new generation. I played the track “Louder Than Loud” on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 7th June.

Local band Fireland released their latest album “Fireland IV – Forged in Fire” independently on 1st June. I still refer to them as a local band, though in reality the band is now focused around local guitarist Steve Moore and American singer David Brown. It is essentially a studio project now, but that has not always been the case. I played the track “Dragon Slayer” on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 24th May, followed by “Hurricane” on the Show on 7th June.
