_{“The Infinite Loop” is the third album from the band Sifting and it was released by Eclipse Records on 27th September. The band was formed in Venezuela in 2010 but is now based in California. I can’t say that I’m a particularly huge fan of the progressive metal genre, but there’s a lot of tracks on this album that I liked and it’s certainly worth checking out. The third single from the album, “Enough”, was included on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 11th October.}

_{Generally I’m not really a fan of screaming vocals, however, in moderation and mixed with ‘clean’ vocals I’m a little more flexible. Fathom Farewell is identified as a ‘melodic metalcore’ band in the e-mail that we received about their new EP “Consume The Earth” (released on 20th September). As always I gave it a listen to see what I thought – and really liked it! There is some screaming vocals, but as the band’s website says ‘the innovative music they create has a piece of appeal for everyone’! The track “Six Feet Beneath” was included on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 4th October.}

_{Megadeth is of course one of those iconic bands in the metal scene and the name of founding member David Ellefson should be instantly recognisable to any rock or metal fan. There is of course much more to Ellefson than being the bass player for Megadeth. With his business partners he owns a record company, a film company and a coffee company and over the past few years he has been part of the bands Altitudes & Attitude and Metal Allegiance. Earlier this year he published his second book “More Life With Deth” and an accompanying album called “Sleeping Giants”. Ellefson brings his solo tour to Europe in November. The first of those gigs is a special show in Wolverhampton on 3rd November that features KK Downing, Tim ‘Ripper’ Owens and others.}
