Electric Guitars is a band founded by Danish guitarists Soren Andersen and Mika Vandborg. They released their first self-titled album in 2014. The second album “String Fever” was released through Target Records on 26th February and is described as “a guitar-oriented rock album”. I was familiar with Soren Andersen as a guitarist, producer and engineer who worked regularly with Mike Tramp (as well as Glenn Hughes, D-A-D and others), so I was keen to check out the album.

Whilst I never really got into Magnum ‘back in the day’, I’ve nothing but high praise when it comes to their recent albums. This is the third album recommendation that I’ve posted for a Magnum release and I think ‘Sacred Blood “Devine” Lies’ which is released through Steamhammer / SPV on 26th February, is the best one to date. The tour to support the album brings Magnum to Northern Ireland for the first time in many years when they play The Limelight in Belfast on 27th May.

It could have been a disaster taking the live favourites into a recording studio. Thankfully it isn't a disaster, rather the five-piece have taken the stoner groove and the anger and brought a vitality to the sound.
