Hollow Illusion is a band from Norway that features twins Magnus M. Hoel on vocals and Ove M. Hoel on bass. They previously released two albums under the name Hollow before changing for legal reasons. Their debut, self-titled album as Hollow Illusion was actually released on 12th February; though I only downloaded it at the start of March. Even so, I’m a bit late in getting a recommendation written; though a vinyl edition of the album is released on 8th April. “Hollow Illusion” is self-released and was produced by guitarist Trond Holter who is best known to me for his work with Jorn Lande.

Nitroville are a London based band who released their second album, entitled “Cheating The Hangman”, through Mighty Music on 25th March. The band was formed in 2010 by Tola Lamont and Scottish-German guitarist Kurt Michael Boeck and their debut album “Can’t Stop What’s Coming” was released in 2011. Unfortunately it must have passed under my radar, but it got great reviews in the USA and Europe and the band toured widely to support the album. Thankfully, I didn’t miss out this time as “Cheating The Hangman” is an excellent rock n roll album and singer Tola Lamont is an awesome talent.
