I’ll be honest and say I’ve listened to “Death Rattle & Roll” by Norwegian band HellHikers quite a lot over the past week or so because I’ve been a bit undecided about it. There are tracks that I really like (which is why I decided to download the promo copy originally) and others that I’m not so sure about. At the end of the day though I decided there was enough that I liked to make it worth a recommendation; and then you can decide for yourself from there! “Death Rattle & Roll” was released via Mighty Music on 15th April.

Former Kiss guitarist Ace Frehley released his latest solo album, entitled “Origins Vol 1” through SPV / Steamhammer on 15th April. Listening to Ace’s solo material has always made me feel like I’m listening to the late 70’s era Kiss whenever Ace occasionally took on the role of lead vocalist, and that can only be a good thing as far as I’m concerned. On “Origins Vol 1” that is particularly the case as we have Ace performing a number of Kiss tracks and even teaming up with Paul Stanley on a cover of Free’s “Fire and Water”.

“Reunite The Sinners” is the second album from American band Prophets of Addiction and it is released by Mighty Music on 15th April, having been previously released independently last year. Call it “glam”, call it “sleaze” or just call it “rock”; whatever you want to label the genre, Prophets of Addiction have it mastered. I played “As We Fall” as the final track on the NI Rocks A-Z Show on 9th February, then decided to open the Show the following week with “Welcome To The Show”.
