‘Warrior’ is the anthemic new single from acclaimed UK act Skarlett Riot. Taken from their upcoming second album ‘Regenerate’. The single was released on 20th October with the album being released on 27th October. ‘Warrior’ is an impassioned and brave anthem, written from Skarlett’s personal experiences.
She explains; ‘Warrior was written as an uplifting message to fans and anyone listening that no matter what life throws at you, no matter how hard times get, you’ll get through it, you’ll come out stronger in the end. The lyrics were written about my personal experience of being bullied at school from a young age, and how small and unimportant that made me feel at the time. I want people to know they're not alone and when they listen to this song I want them to feel braver and stronger.’ Skarlett x

If anyone thought I wasn’t going to post a recommendation for the latest Tyketto release, “Live From Milan”, they clearly don’t know me very well! Granted, I don’t post recommendations for a lot of the live albums or compilations that we get sent or that I play tracks from; but this is Tyketto!! The album was released through Frontiers Music on 13th October and features a performance from the Frontiers Rock Festival that saw the band play every track from their debut album “Don’t Come Easy”. I included “Wings” on the Friday NI Rocks Show this week.
When Tracii Guns and Phil Lewis announced last year that they were going to re-unite in a new L.A. Guns line-up, there was understandable excitement about a new album and expectations were high. L.A. Guns have certainly delivered on those expectations. Initially the album was to have been released in the summer, but it wasn’t until 13th October that “The Missing Peace” was released via Frontiers Music. I played the track “Speed” on the Friday NI Rocks Show back in July when it was released as a single. Singer Phil Lewis is my guest on the Show this week when we play 4 tracks from the album.

English band Bigfoot released their debut, self-titled album through Frontiers Music on 13th October. I first heard of the band from Wigan in early 2015 when I received their debut EP, also called “Bigfoot”. I posted a recommendation for that EP and played some of the tracks on the NI Rocks Shows. Frontiers obviously liked what they heard as well as they signed the band up for this release. I’ve featured the track “The Fear” on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 21st July and “Tell Me A Lie” on 8th Septenber. “Karma” is included on the Show this week.
