Norwegian-American electronic hard rock/heavy metal group Combichrist returns with its eighth studio album 'This is Where Death Begins' on June 3 via Out of Line Music.

To celebrate its imminent release the band have released a lyric video for the track 'Skullcrusher' (see below.

COMIN' ATCHA: Meshuggah set for first Belfast show in January 2017

THEY are one of the defining extreme metal acts of the past number of decades, plying complex stylistic, almost avant garde metal. They are Meshuggah and they are coming to Belfast.

The Swedish maestros will play the city for the first time on Tuesday, January 17th in the Limelight1 in a promotion by The Distortion Project.

NI ROCKS Recommends "Suffer More" by DOOMSDAY OUTLAW

“Suffer More” is the second album from Doomsday Outlaw and it was released independently on 27th May. Almost a year ago to the day I posted a recommendation for their debut album “Black River” which had been released in April 2015. I’d immediately taken to the first album when I heard it and the follow-on “Suffer More” certainly doesn’t disappoint either. What has changed though is the lead vocalist. Whilst there are clear differences in vocal style, Doomsday Outlaw still deliver a brand of Southern, bluesy rock / metal that definitely ticks the boxes for me. I played the track “Saltwater” on the Friday NI Rocks Show on 15th April and “Fallback” on 13th May.
